Gold Coast for Two Months

The Gold Coast became our home for the first two months of our winter in Australia. It was spring when we arrived which became summer in December with daytime temperatures ranging between 33 - 37C. Overnight temperatures on average were 26C. Ladies wear sundresses and skirts, men wear shorts and everyone wears sandals.
The Gold Coast is 30 - 40 km of fine white sandy beaches and the hot dry sand squeaks when walked upon. The ocean waves are soothing to hear. We did have a week or two of high waves due to effects from weather systems far out to sea but even those winds were warm. When it rains, the showers are usually brief and don't affect an outdoor outing. People tend to stay indoors or go to the shopping centres to avoid the heat.
We enjoyed the many days spent exploring the area and have posted photos of all of the locations we visited.
Mid-January we left the Gold Coast with Coffs Harbour being our new destination. We stopped in Byrons Bay for lunch and a view of the ocean from the famous lighthouse.
