Florence: View from Piazzale Michelangelo, Il Duomo di Firenze and the Baptistry of Saint John

The Piazzale Michelangelo provides a stunning view of Florence and the Arno River. Il Duomo di Firenze is the main cathedral in Florence and was begun in 1296 in the Gothic style with the design of Arnolfo de Cambio and completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi.
The octagonal Baptistery of Saint John stands in both the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza San Giovanni, across from the cathedral. It is renowned for its three sets of artistically important bronze doors with relief sculptures.
