Rancho Primavera

Raphael and his daughter Susana introduced us to Bonnie Jáuregui and her husband who own the 90 hectare Rancho Primavera, located about three kilometres from El Tuito on the road to Yelapa. They offered its first birding tour in 1996 and have recorded a total of 160 species on their property. Bonnie's 86 year old mother, Patricia Morrow lives with them and enjoys sharing her many world travel experiences over a morning coffee.
There are guest rooms in the ranch house and cabins on the property offering a variety of activities so your time can be divided between birding, hiking and relaxing by the natural lagoons that offer fishing and swimming.
Bonnie rescued Eduardo, a beautiful military macaw that is a permanent resident at the ranch. Its flight feathers had been plucked out as they developed and although they will grow back Eduardo has not learned how to survive in the wild. Pecans are his favourite nuts and he will only eat the other varieties once he's had a couple of these.
