Basilio Badillo, a famous street in Old Town Puerto Vallarta, was named after a Basilio Vadillo who briefly served as Governor of the Mexican State of Jalisco in the early 1900's. During his tenure as Governor, he signed the communal land grant for the City of Puerto Vallarta.
Now, some of the best Old Town dining will be found here along Basilio Badillo Street, now called Restaurant Row. You can fine everything from informal canteens to gourmet restaurants serving everything from local seafood, traditional Mexican specialties and fine international cuisine. The street is also interspersed with clothing and jewelry stores, art galleries and entertainment venues.
