Puerto Vallarta's most recognizable and endearing landmark, The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe - La Nuestra Señora de Guadelupe, welcomes thousands of visitors every year, particularly during an involved 12-day December festival known as 'The Feast of Guadalupe'.
Construction of the foundation began in 1903, where there was already a small chapel in the same location dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. In 1915, padre Francisco Ayala suggested building a larger temple however, it wasn't until the 1940's that the entire building was finished, with the exception of the two towers.
